William Chiew is a drummer from Perth with a love for straight ahead swing, playing regularly with local outfits such as Hix Rhythm Six, the Matt Cahill Combo as well as leading his own quintet. Combining inspiration from big band legends Count Basie and Buddy Rich, with the likes of Chet Baker and Roy Hargrove and film composers Henry Mancini and Ennio Morricone, his quintet cherishes those melodies that draw you in, reflecting on their stories.
